HTML5 impact on web design world
Posted 13 April 2012
Web design is constantly changing, although experts believe that HTML5 is here to stay. It has many advantages when using it to build a website and can help to make it a success. Some people still prefer to use Flash-based designs, although this is not always the best option. A web designer will be able to guide you as to which is the right one to use for whatever you have in mind. It will vary from business to business depending on the requirements.
Currently, there is no set decision as to whether Flash or HTML5 is better, although many web designers have started to use the latter for what they used to do with Flash. HTML5 has many benefits, though. It enhances usability and makes it easier to create websites from scratch due to the single markup language used. It also makes it easier for the visitor to use the same. Search engines can recognise HTML5 sites quicker and more easily, so this improves search engine optimisation, also known as SEO. HTML5 is also suitable to use on mobile websites, as Flash takes a while for web pages to load. This is why HTML5 has the advantage, as more and more people are using mobile devices to get online, so making the sites as easy to access as possible is so important. Large graphics, use of Flash and lots of text can slow down a website, making it take longer to load. Because of this, mobile users may well go elsewhere and choose to view a competitor’s site instead, so making the design mobile-friendly is vital to keeping business alive.
