Tips on Making Your Website Simple

Keeping your web design simple will enable users to easily navigate their way around it. This becomes even more important if it is an ecommerce website, as visitors are likely to want to spend money on your services or products, so they need to find it easy to use, as well as being able to trust it.
Flashy graphics can put users off as they distract from the content and also slow the website down. You can still include all the relevant features that you need and make it look attractive, but try to keep the design simple and fairly minimalistic. There are various ways of doing this.
Having a colour scheme of just one or two shades will work well, as it looks professional and targeted to an adult market. Ensure that your text is easy to read and that you only include relevant information. It is a good idea to set any text out into paragraphs, using bullet points and headings as much as possible in order to break it up. It will be easier to read and not put people off from doing so.
You should clearly display your contact details on the website and link back to the Home page from every subpage. Having a links bar on the side or top is ideal as it makes switching between the different pages much easier. Do not have too many links otherwise it can overwhelm the user as they may feel as if they cannot get through all the information they need to. If you have too many pages, get rid of some and only keep the more important ones.
